Wireless Security System with Wireless Remote Monitor and via Video/Audio Cell Phone

Monitor and control the security system for your house, office or property from your video-enabled cellphone.

Overview

With new high-speed video capabilities on mobile phone via 3G and other technologies, it is now possible to monitor and control a security system from a remote cellphone.

Primary Application of the Technology

Security systems for home and premises (commercial, public and secured facilities such as military, government or prisons etc.) form a large market.

The primary market is cellphone users/home owners; commercial, governmental and securied premises that need security systems.

A smart home integration component can be marketed by cellphone providers, companies selling electronic appliance/security systems at Best Buy, Sears and others.

Competitive Advantage

The patent invention forms a security system with wireless video/audio/communication and cell phone video/audio/communication controller. The patent enables licensees to develop a new generation of cellphone controlled security system.

Developing the system involves a main control unit consisting of video and audio display, communication, recording and replay capacity; Multiple video/audio/speaker units; Standard plug-in system for Internet connection.

This design does not require a proprietary, custom security system. Virtually any existing system on the market can be modified to take advantage of this technology.

In this design, a wireless remote controller with video and audio communication capacity and recording replay function, and other preferred control functions,  is optional since it can be replaced by a cellphone as controller.

A cell phone controller/monitor can be installed with plug-in software or downloaded as a virtual terminal (java applets with video streaming and service pack to connect/communicate alive with main system) loaded through standard micro SD or USB chip.

The software may be installed on any cell phone with LCD panel and Internet connection. When the cell phone is loaded with the software, it can be activated with the control unit by a key. The software could be preloaded on the cell phone by service providers such as AT&T Wireless or Verizon and manufacturers like Blackberry and iPhone.

Additional Information

The virtual control terminal can be created using a Java applet with video streaming, it communicates with the main control unit running in the background, and may pop up when alerted. Of course, it can be displayed at anytime when the user wishes to view the security video of his/her property or alter the security settings.

Video camera units with audio/speaker options are configured on the premises via the on-site unit.

Revenue opportunities:

1. Sale of security equipment.

2. Monthly service fees: providing the video/audio communication service between systems and users; register/cancel users cell phones in the event that they are lost or stolen.

Targeted marketing outlets: Wal-mart, Sears, Internet, local security system dealers and home builders and cell phone service providers such as Verizon and AT&T Wireless.

Configurability

1. A system designed for the home could have options for different numbers of video terminals and cell phone plug-ins licenses.

2. A large system could be developed for commercial, public and secured facilities such as military government or prisons etc.)
